GO FOR THE TOUR!

Latvia's tennis hope Ernests Gulbis, Romania's Top-30-player Alexandra Dulgheru, German Open winner Andrey Golubev from Kazakhstan or the German Champions of the two last years - Peter Gojowczyk and Cedric-Marcel Stebe - they all participated in the Mercedes Junior Cup on their way to the pro tour. Around 400 young players aged between 13 and 16 come to Renningen and Rutesheim each year and dream about following in the footsteps of these players and to establish themselves on the pro tour. That this transition can happen within only one year is a trademark of the Mercedes Junior Cup. Because the winners of the last 2 years received a wild card for the qualification of the MercedesCup at Stuttgart Weissenhof! No other tournament on the Tennis Europe Tour offers anything comparable.

But there are more reasons why the tournament close to Stuttgart is considered one of the best in Europe. A professional shuttle service (of course with a car pool of the main sponsor), special catering for the players or free access in the internet café are only three points causing a lot of enthusiasm among players and coaches alike. "To me, the tournament was always a lot of fun. Everything is very well organised, everything is perfect! I hope this tournament for the 'small stars' will be there for a long time", says for instance Lisa-Marie Mätschke, German Junior Champion and thrice a participant in the Mercedes Junior Cup. And the industry has also noted the qualities of the tournament: "The Mercedes Junior Cup is one of the best tournaments of its kind in Germany, if not Europe. The professional organisation and the professional presentation are outstanding. Young players receive a first insight into a future life as a professional player. As the brand HEAD we are happy to support a tournament of such class, because only few events reach such a high level and offer similar possibilities for both players and sponsors", remarks Carsten Eberhardt, product manager of the tennis ball sponsor Head Germany.

So you can be sure that also this year some future tennis stars will participate in the Mercedes Junior Cup. The tournament takes place from August 13th - 21st on the courts of TC Rutesheim (main site) and TSC Renningen with the friendly support of the neighbouring clubs in Perouse, Weissach-Flacht, Gebersheim, Leonberg and Eltingen providing practice courts.
